Chronic cervical lymphadenopathy in children: Role of ultrasonography.

摘要: Aim: To assess the usefulness of ultrasonography in differentiation causes chronic cervical lymphadenopathy children. Materials and Methods: Children with palpable lymph nodes were included. An ultrasonographic examination was performed to delineate multiple nodes, irregular margins, tendency towards fusion, internal echos, presence strong echoes echogenic thin layer. Results: The total number patients 120. Echogenic layer specific for tuberculosis. Long axis short (L/S) ratio more than 2 most tubercular (85.71%). Hilus present 50 (73.53%) lymphadenitis, 12 (40%) lymphoma 10 (62.5%) cases metastatic nodes. Hypoechoic center 60 (88.24%) lymphadenitis followed by 62.5% 60% malignant cases. Conclusions: Ultrasonography is a non-invasive tool nodal evaluation It may be used differentiate different etiologies When correlated clinically, it avoid biopsy patient.
