摘要: Neck lumps are common in children, with cervical lymphadenopathy being the most frequent cause [1,2]. Infective or inflammatory lymphadenitis is attributed as a potential of through all stages childhood [3]. The majority enlarged nodes reactive and malignancy rare. When presented child neck lump clinician must exclude but should not over investigate perform unnecessary procedures. It was apparent at our unit that children were seen ear, nose throat clinics. patients by different grades doctor including consultant, registrar more junior doctors senior supervision. management often varied between patients, depending on who had them variety blood tests investigations performed. frequently multiple clinic attendances biopsy rate thought to be high. also suggested may adding delay prior biopsies There clear need for cohesive strategy these patients.
