摘要: Biochemical information about the ubiquitous pteridines has become generally available only within last fifteen years. This delay can be traced to chemical lability of these compounds and their small concentrations in organisms. New methods isolation isotopic techniques have provided data on biosynthesis, anabolism, catabolism this class compounds. Hydrogenated are recognized today as cofactors for various mixed function oxygenases involved cellular electron transport. Further unknown catalytic functions metabolism indicated by physiological activity, negative redox potentials, histoautoradiographic data.
