摘要: Hamster oviducts in culture incorporate [35S]-methionine into secretory proteins. One of these proteins is immunoprecipitated by a monoclonal antibody specific to an antigen found oviductal oocytes but not ovarian oocytes. This antigen, called oviductin, progressively added the oocyte during its transit through oviduct. Oviductin migrates as diffuse band with molecular mass between 160 and 250 kDa on sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis under reducing conditions. The electrophoretic behavior this protein suggests presence polysaccharide side chains. Chemical deglycosylation causes decrease removes antigenic determinant originally present glycoprotein. By using radiation inactivation method, core has been be approximately 44 kDa. These results indicate that oviduct actual site synthesis oviductin. glycoprotein contains high proportion sugar residues, which account for recognized antibody.
