Vitamin B6 treatment of gestational diabetes mellitus

摘要: Thirteen women with late pregnancy gestational diabetes mellitus were tested an intravenous glucose tolerance test and both blood plasma insulin levels measured. Each woman was then treated 100 mg. of vitamin B6 per day for 2 weeks the repeated. There a statistically significant improvement in curve after treatment, lowering at all points on except 5 minute value. This effect occurred despite unchanged or lowered level. These results suggest that relative deficiency is associated some cases replacement this improves metabolic state. The low appear to alter pathways which result biologic activity endogenous insulin.
