摘要: Abstract The lithological and compositional characteristics of eighteen different pyroclastic deposits Campanian origin, dated between 125 cal ky BP 22 cal BP, were described. correlated among outcrops mainly located on the Apennine slopes that border southern Plain. They grouped in two main stratigraphic chronologic intervals regional significance: a) Pomici di Base (22.03 cal BP; Somma–Vesuvius) Ignimbrite (39 cal Campi Flegrei) eruptions; b) older than eruption. Three new 14 C AMS datings support proposed correlations. Six eruptions attributed to Base-Campanian interval, while twelve are Ignimbrite. Of studied originated from Ischia island, five related Flegrei, three Somma–Vesuvius. Two have an uncertain correlation with Somma–Vesuvius or six remain source. Minimum volumes assessed, ranging 0.5 km 3 4 km . Y-3 X-5 tephra layers, which widely dispersed central Mediterranean area. data provide upgraded chrono-stratigraphy for explosive activity Neapolitan volcanoes period 125 BP.
