摘要: An evaluation of physical fitness prior to employment appears be mandatory for several occupations in order protect the employee from overburdening and employer placing excess demands on employee. One such occupation seems that field medical specialist who needs special strength since terrain conditions deny wheel-assisted transport stretcher patients. The anthropometric isometric force data a total 62 female 48 male recruits service Bundeswehr were evaluated, together with their ability carry patient (weight = 14 kg) within gymnasium. Initially 'casualties' simulated by sandbags weighing 60, 70, 80 90 kg each stretchers; subsequently equivalent-weight water cans used. tests administered at beginning end general Basic Military Training (BMT). While all males able patient, only 22 out do so BMT. At end, number had improved 29 55 women soldiers completing training. BMT 22.5% unable rescue 70 patient; fallen 18%. values as measured revealed hand grip best predictor capacity It is, therefore, suggested test training channel unsuitable candidates into other schemes.
