Irish and British Historical Electricity Prices and Implications for the Future

摘要: This paper compares retail and wholesale electricity prices in SEM, the market of island Ireland, BETTA Great Britain. Wholesale costs are much lower BETTA. We show that this is mostly because price set too low to cover generation costs, although it compensated by large margins. The substantial need for new investment Britain suggests returns generators will have increase. Developing a mechanism compensate fairly while simultaneously reducing revenue help achieving goal.
