摘要: Abstract Concern over global climate change has led policy makers to accept the importance of reducing greenhouse gas emissions. This in turn a large growth clean renewable generation for electricity production. Much emphasis been on wind as it is among most advanced forms generation, however, its variable and relatively unpredictable nature result increased challenges system operators. Tidal other hand almost perfectly forecastable such may be viable alternative generation. paper calculates break-even capital cost tidal real system. An market model used determine impact operating schedules conventional units resulting cycling costs, emissions fuel savings. It found that produce positive net benefits case study, costs would have less than €510,000 per MW installed which currently an unrealistically low cost. Thus, concluded not option at present time.
