摘要: G-quadruplex structures can be formed at the single-stranded overhang of telomeric DNA, and ligands able to stabilize this structure have recently been identified as potential anticancer drugs. Among binders, we studied binding ability berberine sanguinarine, two members alkaloid family, an important class natural products long known for medicinal purpose. Our spectroscopic (CD, NMR, fluorescence) studies molecular modeling approaches revealed modes ligand–complex stoichiometries >1:1 ligand self-association induced by DNA interactions alkaloids sanguinarine with human DNA.
