摘要: Background Acute hemolytic transfusion reactions because of dog erythrocyte antigen (DEA) 1 sensitization after mismatched transfusions are serious complications. Dog expression varies from negative to weakly strongly positive. Objectives To assess alloimmunization DEA 1+ blood a 1- dog. Animals One recipient and donor, 106 control dogs. Methods Long-term follow-up study. Matched for 3, 4, 5, 7, Dal, Kai 2, donor packed red cells (RBCs) were transfused 3 times (0.45 mL/kg at Day 0, 16, 37) recipient. Alloantibodies against RBCs controls determined in recipient's plasma samples using commercial antiglobulin-enhanced immunochromatographic strip gel tube crossmatches. Alloantibody titers determined. Results The was sensitized 16 days ≥1657 otherwise matched RBCs. Strong moderate crossmatch incompatibilities observed between all 61 crossmatched controls. Moderate weak also Anti-DEA other alloantibodies detected over the 4.5 year observation period. Conclusions clinical importance Blood induces strong durable Additional developed yet be defined RBC antigens. Those results support recommendation typing dogs 1, considering as immunogenic, crossmatching previously
