摘要: Transient left ventricular apical ballooning (TLVAB), or Takotsubo cardiomyopathy, is a poorly understood phenomenon that thought to be related surge of catecholamines under stress conditions causes microvascular dysfunction and unique pattern myocardial stunning. TLVAB occurs in two distinct patient populations: (i) community presentation similar acute coronary syndrome (ii) the critically ill. Understanding differences presentation, prognosis management between these groups may improve outcome. We present case developing Caucasian postmenopausal female who developed suddenly on background chronic liver disease, malignancy, recent ischemic stroke. The presented with hemodynamic collapse was treated inotropes, vasopressors, supportive care until cardiac function improved. Additionally, we review current literature describing risk factors, pathophysiology, treatment TLVAB.
