摘要: OBJECTIVE To evaluate any differences in the characteristics of primary nocturnal enuresis (PNE) between younger enuretic children and adolescents. SUBJECTS AND METHODS In all, 21 000 questionnaires designed to determine presence or absence bed-wetting, diurnal incontinence, frequency wetting, systemic illness, family history, were sent aged 5–19 years from 67 kindergartens, schools secondary randomly selected by a computer different areas Hong Kong. In addition, questions asked when how parents became aware that bed-wetting is significant medical problem deserving attention after age 5 years. RESULTS Of distributed, 16 512 (78.6%) completed. Among respondents, 512 (302 boys, 210 girls) had PNE; these, 106 (20.7%) also daytime incontinence. There was marked reduction overall prevalence PNE with advancing age. At 5 years old, 16.1% (20.7% 10.8% girls; at 9 19 years, 3.14% 2.2% PNE, respectively. However, this significantly more apparent among those mild symptoms (wet 10 years urinary incontinence than ≤ 10 years (32% vs 14.6%, respectively, P < 0.001). Most (89%) only through material mass media over past 3–4 years. CONCLUSIONS The present finding suggesting spontaneously resolves increasing probably applies symptoms. are older subjects. As increases there an proportion patients severe bed-wetting. Enuretic >10 years adolescents have The previously reported low Kong due parental indifference problem.
