Evidence for Dissociation between Adrenarche and Gonadarche: Studies in Patients with Idiopathic Precocious Puberty, Gonadal Dysgenesis, Isolated Gonadotropin Deficiency, and Constitutionally Delayed Growth and Adolescence*

摘要: To test the hypothesis that adrenarche and activation of hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis (gonadarche) are independent dissociated events, controlled by separate mechanisms, we examined relationship between gonadarche in patients with a variety clinical disorders sexual maturation. The concentration plasma dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate (DHEA-S) was used as hormonal marker adrenal androgen secretion. 26 idiopathic precocious puberty exhibited two distinct patterns. Seventeen onset before 6 yr age had mean DHEA-S which not different from normal prepubertal, preadrenarchal children same sex, chronological (CA; 1–6 yr), bone (BA; 1–10 yr).
