摘要: Heart cells continue to contract rhythmically after isolation and in culture vitro. We describe a model of heart preparation vitro that permits quantitative research on the frequency contractions cardiomyocytes. The chick embryo explants placed network elastic glass fibers continued beating for months, recorded analyzed with methods computer-assisted image analysis. efficacy this experimental screening effects various agents was examined by following nifedipine, caffeine, ethanol, benzamide. reversibility reproducibility results were demonstrated quantitatively. significance mechanical load provided preservation long-lasting contractile activity cardiomyocytes is discussed common occurrence oscillatory contraction processes eucaryotic noted.
