摘要: A novel fly ash supported solid base catalyst (MgO/fly ash) has been synthesized by using F-type and Mg(NO3)2 as precursor. The possessed stable Si-O-Mg phase with sufficient hydroxyl group to catalyze liquid phase, solvent free single step condensation of 4-methoxybenzaldehyde 2-hydroxyacetophenone giving higher conversion (86%) desired product (4-methoxy-2-hydroxychalcone) 93% yield. physico-chemical properties MgO/fly were evaluated N2 adsorptiondesorption, BET surface analysis, XRD, FT-IR, SEM-EDX AAS etc. This excellent yield shows that the basic sites, responsible for catalytic activity. Moreover, was regenerated reused up four reaction cycles approximately equal efficiency in first run, conferring sites are not lixiviated system. Furthermore, this may replace conventional environmentally hazardous homogeneous bases making an ecofriendly; free, atom efficient, process. application synthesize a finds noble way utilize abundant waste material.
