摘要: A geochemical study was carried out at the former Abbadia San Salvatore (ASS) mining site of Monte Amiata ore district (Italy). Hg, As and Sb total contents fractionation using a sequential extraction procedure were determined in soil waste samples. Ore processing activities provided different contribution to Hg contamination concentration fractions, influencing its behaviour as volatility availability. Soils roasting zone showed highest levels mainly due deposition released Hg0 by furnaces during cinnabar roasting. High also measured from lower part dump presence cinnabar. The pattern suggested that largely volatile species both uncontaminated contaminated soils waste, concentrations these increased increased. These findings agreement with fact ASS is characterized high air liquid droplets soil. Volatile prevalent likely because region an area anomalous fluxes gaseous natural anthropogenic inputs. At Sb, while comparable local background In all samples preferentially residual fraction.
