Medication noncompliance in adolescents with psychiatric disorders

摘要: The purpose of the study was to estimate prevalence medication noncompliance among adolescents, following discharge from hospital. A second identify predictors such noncompliance. Seventy-one who had been prescribed a during psychiatric hospitalization, were interviewed by telephone, 6-8 months post-hospitalization. Medication defined as discontinuing without recommendation treating physician. Twenty-four subjects (33.8%) noncompliant with medication. Age, race, gender, SES, diagnosis, type and number medications, severity depression, family living arrangement did not predict We concluded that psychotropic medications relatively common difficult in adolescents hospitalized inpatient unit; majority them suffered depression.
