摘要: Abstract Foreign tourism to Cyprus has grown rapidly since the mid-1970s and yielded considerable economic benefits. However, some environmental damage resulted, particularly from tourist accommodation construction programme. Furthermore, in a few areas large concentrations of foreign tourists at particular times have caused stresses within host community. On other hand, many aspects traditional culture been revitalized by tourism. Stricter control developments, while encouraging more even seasonal regional distribution tourists, should enable benefits be maximized minimizing environmental, social cultural costs.
