摘要: The matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) are a family of zinc-dependent endopeptidases. Their primary function is degradation proteins in the extracellular matrix. Currently, at least 19 members this known to exist. Based on substrate specificity and domain organization, MMPs can be loosely divided into four main groups: interstitial collagenases, gelatinases, stromelysins membrane-type MMPs. Recent data from model systems suggest that involved breast cancer initiation, invasion metastasis. Consistent with their role progression, high levels two (MMP-2 stromelysin-3) have been found correlate poor prognosis patients cancer. Because apparently initiation dissemination, inhibition these proteinases may value both preventing blocking metastasis established tumours
