Studies of laser-plasma interaction physics with low-density targets for direct-drive inertial confinement schemes

摘要: Comprehensive understanding and possible control of parametric instabilities in the context inertial confinement fusion (ICF) remains a challenging task. The details absorption processes detrimental effects hot electrons on implosion process require as much effort experimental side theoretical simulation side. This paper describes proposal for studies nonlinear interaction intense laser pulses with high-temperature plasma under conditions corresponding to direct-drive ICF schemes. We propose develop platform laser-plasma based foam targets. Parametric are sensitive bulk temperature density scale length. Foam targets sufficiently flexible allow these parameters. However, investigations conducted small facilities cannot be extrapolated reliable way real conditions. It is therefore necessary perform experiments at multi-kilojoule energy level medium-scale such OMEGA or SG-III.
