摘要: Previous immunohistochemical studies have identified several regulatory peptides in the carotid body chief cells both humans and animals. These peptides, together with amines, may be important modulation of chemoreflex by body. We report localization distribution calcitonin cholecystokinin-like (CCK) immunoreactivity human infant light- electron-microscopic techniques. Consecutive sections immunostained and/or CCK antibodies revealed positively stained cells, alone clusters, scattered throughout lobule. Generally more were positive for than CCK. This was confirmed quantiative analysis showing that ratio to immunoreactive consistently >2:1 all cases studied. There no apparent correlation between two age, sex, or postmortem interval. Calcitonin-like CCK-like immunoreactivities localized electron-microscopically over dense core granules cells. Calcitonin act as neutransmitters neuromodulators involved chemoreception.
