Methotrexate-induced histopathological changes in the kidneys of mice.

摘要: The present study was conducted on (40) white mice of approximately the same age (4-6 weeks) and body weight (23-25 gm) for aim observing histopathological changes kidneys due to prolonged treatment (6 months) with anticancer chemotherapeutic agent namely methotrexate. Forty were divided into 4 groups (10 each group, 5 per sex). first group (low or therapeutic dose group) received 0.15 mg/kg. second (intermediate 0.3 mg/ kg . third (toxic 0.45 mg / kg. fourth a control group; it 0.2 ml buffered normal physiological saline. All these injected intramuscularly, once weekly 6 months. results showed that methotrexate cause damage severe toxicity in renal convoluted tubules glomeruli kidneys.
