摘要: INTRODUCTION: Brazilian epidemiological studies on systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) are scarce, and currently available data originate almost entirely from international literature. OBJECTIVES: To determine the incidence some clinical laboratory characteristics of patients with SLE in municipality Cascavel, state Parana, Brazil. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Data were collected August 2007 to July 2008 all health services Cascavel providing care rheumatology: a university-affiliated hospital, public outpatient clinic, three private clinics. RESULTS: The study identified 14 diagnosed SLE, which resulted an estimated 4.8 cases/100,000 inhabitants/year.
