摘要: Recent global developments, including the feminization of parliaments and rise gender quotas, have transformed ways in which parties legislatures operate. This introduction to special issue ‘Candidate Selection: Parties Legislatures a New Era’ puts these recent developments context, making case for revisiting ‘secret garden’ candidate selection light this ‘new era’ politics. It sets out critical dialogue between party politics scholarship points need more research on how political facilitate or block women’s access office.
