摘要: Abstract The Fly River occupies a large humid tropical drainage basin in western Papua New Guinea. In its upper reaches, the river system steep mountain country but further downstream, there is 500-km floodplain reach that backed up by Strickland. This chapter examines climate, hydrology, and geomorphology of system. It also describes changes have occurred response to disposal tailings waste rock from Ok Tedi mine. These include extensive deposition, especially part system, rising water levels had major effect on floodplain.
