摘要: PURPOSE The purpose of this study was to report the incidence and underlying ocular pathology a macular hole (MH) that develops in vitrectomized eyes evaluate its prognosis. METHODS A retrospective chart review performed patients who underwent vitrectomy between March 2004 June 2009. Cases developed an MH were identified, data from all ophthalmology examinations collected. Patients with recurrent MHs after initial surgery excluded. RESULTS We identified 10 cases secondary during period 64 months (incidence, 8 3,279 [0.24%]). Two not included calculations because vitrectomies before 2004. on four vitreous hemorrhage caused by proliferative diabetic retinopathy, three retinal detachment high myopia, one eye combined uveitis, rhegmatogenous detachment, epiretinal membrane. formation cystoid edema two eyes, membrane no specific lesion another eyes. managed additional vitrectomy, peeling internal limiting membrane, intravitreal gas tamponade. Nine achieved closure surgery, recovered their previous visual acuity; other 2 had loss within Snellen lines, none 9 recurrence mean follow-up 20.7 (range, 4-31 months). CONCLUSION development is rare. Pathogenic mechanisms than idiopathic may be involved these cases. anatomical functional outcome good, although final acuity dependent pathology.
