Psychotropic drug use in the Boston area. A report from the Boston Collaborative Drug Surveillance Program.

摘要: During 1972, adults admitted to general medical and surgical wards in Boston area hospitals were interviewed determine their use of prescribed psychotropic drugs prior hospitalization. Patients hospitalized for psychiatric disorders or psychogenic ("functional") disease excluded. who had taken that could not be identified considered nonusers. Of the total sample, 20% gave a history drug use. Antianxiety by 15% patients accounted two thirds Hypnotics another 4% sample. Slightly over half antianxiety hypnotic was year more. Use more frequent with potentially chronic disorders. The findings, general, are consistent other studies employing methods investigate drugs.
