In most songbirds, individuals different versions species-specific (i.e. syllable types) form a repertoire. The composition repertoires (the types constitute repertoire), size (number types), rate type switching and way single are performed (song rate, percentage performance time, duration), all differ considerably within among species (reviews in Kroodsma Miller 1982; Searcy Andersson 1986; Byers 1991).
