Interspecific hybridization between Abelia × grandiflora ‘Francis Mason’ and A. schumannii via ovule culture

摘要: Inter specific hybridization among species of Abelia offers the potential for new cultivars. Seeds from inter between A. × grandiflora ‘Francis Mason’ schumannii failed to germinate, and ovule culture was employed. Ovules were dissected achenes 4, 5, 6 weeks after pollination cultured on either Woody Plant Medium (WPM) or Linsmaier Skoog (LS) containing 0, 9.8, 39.2 μM 2iP. All media contained coconut water (5% v/v), sucrose(30 g/l), agar (8 MS vitamins (1 mg/l). Embryos recovered, spontaneous embryo germination, root formation, plant survival recorded. Number following significantly affected all parameters examined, with ovules harvested 5 producing best results. greatest embryos 0 Eight-five percent produced that rooted 65% survived hardening off process when WPM no growth regulator.
