摘要: To gain a better understanding of population processes and in the light critically endangered status Common Guillemot Uria aalge Norway, we investigate which environmental factors might affect fitness guillemot chicks as they depart from nest site over 16-year period on colony NE Norway. Although prey composition did not seem to influence fledging body mass chicks, there were significant relationships between yearly variations chick abundance two important species (1-group herring Clupea harengus that is an food item 0-group cod Gadus morhua adult item), size sea surface temperature around colony. The positive young occurred during warming Barents Sea such future recruitment into will depend partly long-term changes ocean climate region.
