摘要: Abstract Objectives In recent years, Italy has been registering peaks in death rates, particularly among the elderly during winter season. Influenza epidemics have indicated as one of potential determinants such an excess. The objective our study was to estimate influenza-attributable contribution excess mortality influenza seasons from 2013/14 2016/17 Italy. Methods We used EuroMomo and FluMomo methods annual trend rate by age group. Population data were provided National Institute Statistics, on like illness confirmed cases Institutes Health. As indicator weekly activity (IA) we adopted Goldstein index, which is product percentage patients seen with influenza-like (ILI) influenza-positive specimens, a given week. Results estimated deaths 7,027, 20,259, 15,801 24,981 attributable 2013/14, 2014/15, 2015/16 2016/17, respectively, using index. average per 100,000 ranged 11.6 41.2 most influenza-associated year registered elderly. However children less than 5 years old also reported relevant 2014/15 (1.05/100,000 1.54/100,000 respectively). Conclusions Over 68,000 period. observed not completely unexpected, high number fragile very subjects living conclusion, unpredictability virus continues present major challenge health professionals policy makers. Nonetheless, vaccination remains effective means for reducing burden influenza, efforts increase vaccine coverage introduction new strategies (such vaccinating healthy children) should be considered reduce experienced Europe last seasons.
