摘要: Although hemovigilance is not a word used conunonly in the United States, concept of monitoring morbidity associated with blood transfusion accepted widely. Currently, quality management focuses on error avoidance rather than detection both manufacturing' and clinical aspects banking. Manufacturing' regulated predominantly by current Good Manufacturing Practices while medicine follows practice guidelines. There are multiple overlapping mechanisms for assurance reporting among governmental, professional, non-profit regulatory agencies. The strategies each stress on-going need systems approaches to preventing errors.
