摘要: Neurons have a large surface because of their long and thin neurites. This is composed lipid bilayer. Lipids not been actively investigated so far some technical difficulties, although evidence from cell biology emerging that lipids contain valuable information about roles in the central nervous system. Recent progress techniques, e.g., mass spectrometry, opens new epoch research. We show herein characteristic localization phospholipid components neurites by means time-of-flight secondary ion spectrometry. used explant cultures mouse superior cervical ganglia, which are widely neurite investigation In positive-ion detection mode, head group molecules were predominantly detected. The ions m/z 206.1 [phosphocholine, common component phosphatidylcholine (PC) sphingomyelin (SM)] evenly distributed throughout neurites, whereas 224.1, 246.1 (glycerophosphocholine, part PC, but SM) showed relatively strong intensity on adjacent to soma. negative-ion fatty acids such as oleic palmitic mainly detected, showing high Our results suggest neuritic distributions depending region.
