摘要: Loss of myocardium permanently impairs cardiac function because the adult mammalian heart has limited regenerative capacity. Strategies to regenerate injured tissue include transplantation multiple types stem cells. Among them, pluripotent cells (PSCs) are a promising option their unlimited self-renewal and unequivocal cardiomyogenic ability. To date, advances in cell biology allow generation relatively homogeneous human PSC-derived cardiomyocytes (CMs). In this regard, preclinical studies PSC-CM rodents larger animal models have provided convincing proof-of-concept results, triggering clinical countries. However, few important uncertainties yet be addressed, warranting further investigation before implementation novel therapy. An overview potential therapy provide new CMs for regeneration is presented.
