摘要: Objectives A prospective randomized controlled study was conducted to examine the effects of counseling and implementation clinical pathway on type 2 diabetic patients hospitalized with hypoglycemia. Material method Thirty- three cases received for treatment hypoglycemia (study group) another 32 conventional (control in Taksin Hospital between July December 2005. Results Both groups have similar age, sex, mean serum glucose admission. There were also no differences two terms number chronic complications, acute concurrent illness pattern hypoglycemic drugs used treatment. Average length hospital stay group significantly lower than that control (3.94 +/- 1.03 vs 6.38 4.05; p = 0.0005). a significant decrease capillary blood tests performed compared (10.03 5.04 12.34 5.96; 0.048). Subsequent readmissions recurrent at 1 3 months interval after being discharged from decreased (6.06 % 34.38 %; 0.036). While there considerable reduction medical cost group, it did not reached statistically difference when (2,743.58 1,473.04 3,687 3,110.82; 0.06). Conclusion Counseling can reduce readmission rates This results health economic benefits.
