摘要: Background: Clinical investigations have shown prognostic heterogeneity within the non-Hodgkin’s lymphomas (NHLs) according to histology, but few descriptive studies considered NHLs by subgroup. Our purpose is assess demographic patterns and any notable increases in population-based rates of different histologic subgroups NHL. Methods: Using data collected Surveillance, Epidemiology, End Results Program National Cancer Institute, we calculated incidence for major clinicopathologic categories NHL age, race, sex, geographic area, time period. Results: Among 60 057 cases diagnosed during period from 1978 through 1995, total (per 100 000 person-years) was 17.1 11.5 among white males females, respectively, 12.6 7.4 black respectively. However, follicular were two three times greater whites than blacks, with little sex variation. Blacks demonstrated much higher peripheral T-cell NHL, females. For other subgroups, persons less years age generally racial difference; at older ages, difference. Highgrade most rapidly rising subtype, particularly males. Follicular increased more race/sex groups. Overall, broad small lymphocytic, follicular, diffuse, high-grade, emerged as distinct entities specific racial, temporal, variations rates. Conclusions: Findings our large, study reveal differing trends group. Future analytic should evaluate risks defined histology new classification criteria. [J Natl Inst 2000;92: 1240–51]
