摘要: Although surgical resection of benign human meningiomas is the primary goal, in case relapse or when they are not fully resectable, other strategies including chemotherapeutical treatment would be appropriate. The initial evaluation agents requires an appropriate tumor model, where natural characteristics original reflected. We here tested, whether cell cultures reliably grow after intracranial transplantation into mice, and show histomorphological immunohistochemical tumor. Cells 11 were transplanted prefrontal cortex nude mice. After 3 months, mice sacrificed their brains histologically processed for morphological characterization measurement volume. Additionally, proliferation index (PI), microvessel density, epithelial membrane antigen (EMA) compared between tumors grown by using methods. Further, cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) expression, a possible target pharmacological manipulation, was examined. results showed almost all (93%) formation with meningothelial histomorphology comparable to tumors. PI, vascular density COX-2 expression similar meningiomas, but EMA reduced (P<0.01). In conclusion implantation meningioma immunohistological features This model may therefore suitable test novel therapeutic agents.
