摘要: • The relationship between age and regional cerebral blood flow (rCBF) activation for cognitive tasks was investigated with the xenon Xe 133 inhalation technique. sample consisted of 55 healthy subjects, ranging in from 18 to 72 years, who were studied during rest performance verbal analogy spatial orientation tasks. dependent measures indexes gray-matter rCBF average (gray white matter) as well percentage tissue. Advanced associated reduced flow, particularly pronounced anterior regions. However, extent pattern changes cognition unaffected by age. For gray matter, there a specific reduction regions left hemisphere. findings suggest utility this research paradigm investigating neural underpinnings effects dementia on functioning, relative normal aging.
