A mitochondrial specific stress response in mammalian cells

摘要: Cells respond to a wide variety of stresses through the transcriptional activation genes that harbour stress elements within their promoters. While many these are shared by encoding proteins representative all subcellular compartments, cells can also specific individual organelles, such as endoplasmic reticulum un folded protein response. Here we report on discovery and characterization mitochondrial response in mammalian cells. We find accumulation unfolded matrix results upregulation nuclear chaperonin 60, 10, mtDnaJ ClpP, but not those reticulum. Analysis 60/10 bidirectional promoter identified CHOP element element. Dominant-negative mutant forms overexpression revealed this transcription factor, association with C/EBPβ, regulates expression proteins.
