摘要: The membrane bioreactor (MBR) activated sludge process is being applied more and for wastewater treatment due to its high efficiency low space requirement. However, the usefulness of MBR in low-temperature zones less studied than that under normal conditions. This study determined effect temperature (∼13 °C) operation on performance characteristics. When decreased from 22 °C 13 °C, average effluent COD concentration increased (10 ± 5) (25 4) mg L−1 nitrogen removal appeared not be affected. abundance diversity nitrifying bacteria such as Nitrosospira (ammonia-oxidizing bacteria) Nitrospira (nitrite-oxidizing were reduced exposure. total biomass about 10 000 at room 8200 same solid retention time. Furthermore, became bulking with a significant increase volume index. resultant was accompanied by accelerated fouling resulting two-fold frequency cleaning. results suggest deteriorated temperatures even though water quality still good enough applications zones.
