摘要: The enzyme carbonic anhydrase (CA) catalyzes the reversible hydration/dehydration of CO(2) and water, maintaining a near-instantaneous equilibrium among all chemical species involved in reaction. CA is found association with tissue organ systems transport excretion CO(2), from site production, metabolically active such as muscle, to circulating red blood cells vasculature, various organs gas exchange, lungs gills. presence every fluid compartment along pathway appears necessary order allow dehydration HCO(3)(-) keep pace rapid diffusion across biological membranes. Within actual compartmentalized multiple subcellular fractions, specific localization determining enzyme's physiological function.
