Conservative Versus Surgical Management of Gastrointestinal Linear Foreign Bodies in the Cat

摘要: Twenty-four cases of gastrointestinal linear foreign bodies (LFB) in cats were reviewed. Nine successfully managed conservatively, with passage the LFB occurring 1 to 3 days after presentation. Ten that initially conservatively subsequently treated surgically. The decision operate was based on worsening clinical signs and failure pass LFB. Five via conservative treatment had a shorter duration before presentation, decreased incidence abdominal pain palpable intestinal plication, less severe hematologic abnormalities. Radiographic little benefit deciding whether treat or None died.
