摘要: Converging epidemiological studies suggest that dietary essential n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA) are likely to be involved in the pathogenesis of mood and cognitive disorders linked aging. The question arises as whether decreased prevalence these symptoms elderly with high PUFA consumption is also associated improved central inflammation, i.e. cytokine activation, brain. To answer this, we measured memory performance emotional behavior well synthesis level spleen cortex adult aged mice submitted a diet an adequate supply form a-linolenic (a-LNA) or deficient diet. Our results show docosahexaenoic (DHA), main brain, was higher relative this difference maintained throughout life. Interestingly, brain DHA decrease depressive-like On opposite, spatial but not mice. Furthermore, increased interleukin-6 (IL-6) IL-10 expression were found independently diets. All together, our a-LNA sufficient protect from deficits disruption proinflammatory age.
