摘要: Brown dwarfs are not massive enough to sustain thermonuclear fusion of hydrogen at their centres, but distinguished from gas-giant planets by ability burn deuterium. older than ~ 10 Myr expected possess short-lived magnetic fields and emit radio X-rays only very weakly coronae. An X-ray flare was recently detected on the brown dwarf LP944-20, whereas previous searches for optical activity (and one search) yielded negative results. Here we report discovery quiescent flaring emission with luminosities several orders magnitude larger predicted empirical relation, between that has been found many types stars. Interpreting data within context synchrotron emission, show LP944-20 an unusually weak field in comparison active M-dwarf stars, which might explain null results, as well strength emissions compared those wavelengths.
