摘要: Visual event-related potentials (ERPs) of primary interest in this study post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) were N1, N2, P2, and P3. Forty Israeli combat veterans consisting 20 PTSD sufferers normal controls evaluated. ERPs recorded response to three sets computer-generated visual stimuli, presented the form a modified oddball paradigm. These stimuli included: domestic animal pictures (targets), emotionally neutral furnishings (nontargets), combat-related (nontarget probes). Subjects required discriminate between target nontarget by pressing button only. instructed ignore all stimuli. As expected, evoked accentuated P3 amplitudes both patients. The elicited enhanced N1 patients N2 for targets pictures. latencies reaction times prolonged same tendency was observed latencies. results may indicate that an altered state early late cognitive selective attention processing exists addition vulnerability traumatic reminiscences.
