摘要: Currently over one million households in the Province of Riau Indonesia, mainly rural villages, do not have access to electricity. This dissertation was aimed fill gap lack studies exploiting local renewable energy resources extend reliable, affordable and sustainable electricity supplies for Riau’s villages. It identifies, designs, analyses feasible options that harness solar energy, hydrokinetic power from rivers palm-biodiesel fuel diesel generators. Along with a literature study, HOMER simulation program used as technical design tool, I3A framework proposed by Retnanestri (2007) adopted general tool enhance sustainability electrification programs (REPs) Riau. Two been recommended meet future electrical load typical village. The first option is hybrid system comprised photovoltaic array, Darrieus turbines (DHTs), back-up generator, battery bank, an inverter. second consists generator biodiesel fuel. met 100% but had around 20% capacity shortage. In option, DHTs contributed 55% output, indicating viability river low O&M costs its capital cost high, while opposite structure. (COEs) both were higher than current tariff Riau, would be lower COE diesel-only system. To REP implementations it necessary consider Institutional issues related Accessibility, Availability Acceptability aspects, which simultaneously look at all features REP’s “hardware-software-orgware.”
