摘要: Respiration and photosynthesis are two important processes in microalgal growth that occur simultaneously the light. To know rates of both processes, at least one them has to be measured. able measure rate light respiration Chlorella sorokiniana, measurement oxygen uptake must fast, preferably order minutes. We measured immediate post-illumination respiratory O2 (OUR) situ, using fiber-optic microsensors, a small simple extension cultivation system. This method enables rapid frequent measurements without disturbing microalgae. Two batch experiments were performed with C. sorokiniana short light-path photobioreactor, OUR was different time points. The net production (net OPR) online. Adding OPR gives gross (gross OPR), which is for evolution by photosynthesis. 35–40% higher than experiments. known related rate, it suggested faster algal leads energy (ATP) requirement, as such, activity increases. hypothesis supported our results, specific highest beginning culture when highest. In addition, decreases toward end until reaches stable value around 0.3 mmol h−1 g−1. equal maintenance requirement determined an independent study (Zijffers et al. 2010 (in press)). suggests could fulfill requirements cells.
