摘要: A baited remote underwater video station (BRUVS) is generally considered an appropriate sampling tool for fish. The applicability of BRUVS to determine the substrate coverage was assessed by comparing stills from videos traditional point intercept transect (PIT) data estimate percentage cover (PC) different benthic categories. Mean PCs hard corals, rock, sand, and coral growth forms yielded statistically identical values with two survey methods, while motile epibenthic invertebrates were underestimated in areas both high moderate relief. Yet, multivariate analyses revealed that methods yield similar assemblage area Results our study suggest can be effectively used quantify presence/absence a basic set habitat characteristics diversity on reefs Persian Gulf.
