摘要: Since their inception, mobile computing platforms had a tremendous impact on technology and society. Two key technical aspects that fostered were further fed by its advancements are mature open-source software community power-efficient processor architecture intellectual property (IP) accessible to many silicon manufacturers. In the computer music academic community, developments of platforms, allowed for blossoming physical works stemming from previous in laptop computing. this thesis all these intertwined studied with specific interest digital musical instrument signal processing wireless network performance. A platform satisfies both requirements enacts role an link other instruments is envisioned. Following unifying trend fit functionalities single device, prototyping embedded has been chosen twofold aim. Digital processors Signal Processing (DSP) algorithms industry therefore historical perspective, look requirements. Novel achievements DSP sound synthesis processing, sampling transmission addressed. The needs state art Networked Music Performance (NMP) summarized gather insight useful features NMP system based platform. This all-round design approach resulted conception WeMUST (Wireless Studio) project addressing several issues defined study phase verifying feasibility commercial hardware solutions. Once development proved satisfying some extent, first release tools publicly rolled-out application case demonstrated July 2014 Waterfront, novel performance between boats off coast Ancona, Italy. occasion evaluation work served also as reference future development.
